AND " The Official Dr. Science Big Book of Science (Simplified)" Pinball Scientists was made in Taiwan exclusively for Accoutrements, Seattle, WA. This is Item 9640 from the 1992 Accoutrements catalog and is discontinued and no longer available and quite RARE. (Accoutrements is now a part of Archie McPhee.) This is a hand held pinball game in very good working condition wherein the players pull down on the spring metal flipper to launch the red ball into the playing area. With scientific skill (Newtonian mechanics with or without relativistic corrections), the players can manipulate the ball to land in the scoring pockets of famous scientists to collect points and fame. Charles Darwin 5 points Marie Curie 10 points Sir Isaac Newton 10 points Louis Pasteur 20 points Albert Einstein 20 points Dr. Science 50 points Scientist biographies are printed on the back of the game. The black and white marbley background pattern of the front and rear playing surface is a bunch of obscure but important scientific stuff that you can copy into your next publication, and cite appropriately, to impress the referees and readers. Any resemblance between 50 Point Dr. Science of the Pinball Scientists pinball game and Dr. Science of The Official Dr. Science Big Book of Science is purely a possibility. The pinball game is in very good condition with minor shelf wear. The plastic cover on the game face is starting to yellow with age but is clear, transparent and flexible (not brittle).
